HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Cypress

Pieper is collaborating with Hoar Construction for the first time on this 40-bed rehabilitation hospital in Cypress, Texas, for HealthSouth, the nation’s largest provider of inpatient rehabilitative healthcare services.

Pieper’s responsibilities for the project include electrical, lightning protection, fire alarm system and the cabling for nurse calls, data, intercom and telephone systems and security. One of the biggest obstacles the project faces is the location of the main centerpoint service. There is no access to the site for power, so a new easement from Farm-to-Market Road 1960, across someone’s property, with poles must be built — a project that is still underway. Generators are being used for temporary power for construction. Leading the Pieper field team to complete this hospital is Bubba Sequera.
